Devotional:          DEFEAT OR DA-FEET?

Isaiah 52:7  How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!”

2 Timothy 1:7  For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

2 Corinthians 3:4   We are confident of all this because of our great trust in God through Christ.

Romans 2:19   and art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them that are in darkness,

Hebrews 10:35   So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you!

Philippians 1:6   being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ.

Psalm 108:1   My heart is confident in you, O God; no wonder I can sing your praises with all my heart!

Joshua 10:5  Joshua told them, “Don’t hold back. Don’t be timid. Be strong! Be confident! This is what God will do to all your enemies when you fight them.”

Romans 15:13  I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 5:2  Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.

1 Corinthians 15:58    With all this going for us, my dear, dear friends, stand your ground. And don’t hold back. Throw yourselves into the work of the Master, confident that nothing you do for him is a waste of time or effort.

Hebrews 10:22  So let’s do it—full of belief, confident that we’re presentable inside and out. Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word. Let’s see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on, especially as we see the big Day approaching.

These Scriptures are just some that inspire and encourage me when I get scared or shy or whatever the reason why I at times fight against whether I should dance or not and whether I will be open to what my teachers believe I can do.  In our ohana, it’s good to be confident in who? Not in ourselves…we’re all chicken.  But we can be confident in Christ.  Artists, musicians, dancers are often introverts in daily living, but when they get on stage, they let DA-FEET do the talking and DEFEAT do the walking-out.
